It’s often said that the best ideas are the simple ones. Thermoformed packaging is no exception to this, but what makes a simple pack really stand out from the crowd? The answer is usually a clever design well executed to a high standard that looks simpler than it really is.
Take for example the ‘Frenzee’ pack pictured below. It’s based on a C6 standard profile shape from our Eurocel clamshell range. The Eurocel concept is a collection of popular shapes and sizes for a variety of thermoformed clamshell plinth profiles. These can then have an add-on shape to customise the final pack and make it fit the product precisely. The beauty of this system is that because the standard profile shape already exists there is an immediate reduction in tooling cost. The only tooling cost incurred is for the add-on shape. This means that you can have a customised clamshell at a much lower set up cost of a bespoke pack.
In the pack shown the add-on shape enables 2 separate products to be presented securely and independently on the front of the pack. The graphic insert card features a corporate design that fits around the product making this simple pack look really effective at the point of sale.
