Macpac Limited is a long established BRC/IOP and ISO 9001 certified manufacturer of high quality thermoformed packaging.
The business was founded in 1974 when vacuum forming was still in its infancy. We quickly developed a reputation for innovation as pioneers of new techniques in thermoforming technology that has continued ever since and became a preferred supplier to household names such as Meccano and Dinky toys.
Today we supply a wide range of point-of sale and specialist bespoke packaging solutions to a diverse cross section of food and non-food industries and blue chip retail companies.
We are dedicated to making the business of sourcing effective packaging really easy. This includes a turnkey service from design concept through all stages of production and fulfillment; eliminating supply chain problems and reducing cost. Put us to the test with your next project.
In addition to our bespoke packaging we also manufacture the standard packaging ranges of Surecel and Plantpac. Surecel is an award winning range of locking clamshell blister packs that has superseded the hugely popular BlisterKing range. Surecel is available in a variety of attractive retail ready shapes and sizes and can be customised with an add-on shape with minimal additional tooling cost. Plantpac is a range of horticultural packaging specifically for growers and suppliers of mail order plug plants. Please click on the link plantpac.net to view the Plantpac range and order on line.
Other products manufactured include locking clam packs, die cut packaging, transit trays, collation trays, and shelf ready display trays.
In 2010 we scheduled the first of 3 planned factory expansion and refurbishment programmes. The second programme was completed in early 2013 and the final expansion will be finished during 2015.
During the summer of 2011 Macpac acquired the thermoforming business of Hamilton Plastics Packaging based in Northampton. Production was moved from Northampton to Stockport along with selected machinery and the sales engineering team. Customers converting over to Macpac now enjoy the additional facilities Macpac provide.
Throughout these major improvements customers have continued to receive seamless supply of goods and the highest quality of service. The final phase will see an increase in factory capacity of over 50% with extended tool rooms equipped with new CNC machine tooling centres and a streamlined factory facility with a finished goods capacity of over 1000 pallets. The production hall now features more than 12 Illig pressure forming machines. The oldest of these is just 5 years and 3 of them feature the ground breaking, world first, stacking and rewind technology developed by Macpac in collaboration with Illig in 2014.
